A poll released by the Monmouth University Polling Institute on Wednesday suggests that more than 5 in 10 Republicans—54 percent of respondents—back public schools teaching the subject. In contrast, 94 percent of Democrats said that they supported teaching about the history of racism. Meanwhile, when another sample of respondents was prompted on whether they specifically supported CRT being taught to students, 16 percent of Republicans said they supported the idea, 75 percent of Democrats said they were in favor of the practice while 15 percent said they were opposed to the concept....

As with a large quantity of the reactions online, not every developer saw the announcement in a positive light. One such developer is Markus “Notch” Persson, the man behind Minecraft. Following the news of Oculus VR’s acquisition, he revealed that he would regrettably be parting ways with the hardware. While this move might leave a sour taste in some gamers’ mouths, one of Oculus’ heaviest hitters, EVE: Valkyrie, is still on track to make use of the virtual reality tech....

A Gallup poll taken in the same month as the destruction of Hiroshima and Nagasaki reflected overwhelming support, with 85 percent of Americans in favor of incinerating the two Japanese cities and only 10 percent against. Modern polling has found a gradual decrease in support for the bombings, from 59 percent approving in Gallup polling conducted in 1995 to 43 percent in 2016. CBS polling from 2016 found other sharp divides, with majorities of men and Republicans approving of the use of the atomic bomb against Japan and the majority of non-white, Democratic, women and young people disapproving....

The president has a limited range of options to tackle climate change on his own, especially in the wake of a Supreme Court ruling last month that restricted the Environmental Protection Agency’s ability to regulate emissions from coal-fired power plants. The collapse of a potential climate deal in Congress this month also dealt a significant blow to Biden’s climate agenda. With Update 2.4, Public Events will become relevant once again. Under the first Rise of Iron patch, Public Events will now become a source for legendary marks, destination materials, and experience, but only on the first completion. Farming public events after that will reap some rewards, but not nearly as many. The update has also changed the Quest menu to ‘Progress’, seemingly in an effort to help players better track how they are doing with individual tasks....

It should come as no surprise that a company like Bungie, that puts a priority on community, understands this. The studio is planning to ramp up hype for the hotly anticipated Destiny: The Taken King, and they’re doing it with the help of some familiar faces. Bungie announced in its Weekly Update today that it will produce several Twitch streams leading up to Destiny: The Taken King’s release, to be aired over the course of 3 weeks in late August and early September....

Needless to say, it’s a bittersweet time for Destiny players and anything being off would be piling on. For example, if Xur showed up for the weekend without his full selection in tow, then that would be a little unusual and disappointing. Xur Location and Exotic Armor This weekend, Destiny players can find Xur in The Reef, the social space added with the House of Wolves DLC expansion. There’s only one spot Xur can hide on the reef – it’s to the right after spawning in....

So where is Xur this weekend? Well, for the third week in a row Xur has taken up residence in a familiar spot, this one right inside the hangar. He’s actually pretty hard to miss; just follow the hallway down the first set of stairs and Xur should be standing to your right. Unfortunately, getting to Xur will reveal that Destiny’s Agent of the Nine has nothing particularly unexpected in his selection....

A fresh weapon re-balance has also been introduced – along with the possible forthcoming inclusion of an exotic known as Touch of Malice – and the Agent of the Nine, more familiarly known as Xûr, is back to hawk more of his wares, with new guns and items. However, the vendor is going to be switching up his selling tactics when it comes to Year 2 of Destiny. The news of the exotics dealer’s altered practices comes courtesy of the first Bungie Weekly Update since The Taken King released a couple of days ago....

In the past Hirsberg has flat out said that he was unhappy with the lack of content that came out for Destiny 1, and it looks to be a major aspect Activision hopes to fix with the game’s developer, Bungie, this time around for the sequel. Hirshberg said that how well a game like Destiny 2 is supported post-launch is just as important, if not more so, than the launch game:...

According to game director Luke Smith, fans can expect Beyond Light to have more content than last year’s Shadowkeep expansion, but not as much as 2018’s Forsaken, which was developed both internally at Bungie itself and externally through former publishing partner Activision. Speaking to Twitch Gaming, the director said that Forsaken’s larger production across two teams allowed Bungie to produce a more sizeable DLC, and the studio had to focus its efforts on later releases after choosing to make the game independently....

One more gun that has always been good for clearing multiple adds is Telesto, an Exotic fusion rifle with a troubled past, as it is the gun that broke the game or caused glitches the most out of all of Destiny 2’s arsenal. Inevitably, with a Season revolving around the use of fusion rifles, Telesto ended up causing a series of issues ranging from infinite Orbs of Power to its bolts acting as armor for allies in PvP....

One of these places, known as the Chamber of Starlight, is a secret place within Rheasilvia, specifically in The Dreaming City portion of the map. However, before attempting to find this location, it is recommended that gamers be at least Power Level 560. The Rat King is a Destiny 2 sidearm that becomes stronger when nearby allies also have it equipped, and the effect can be stacked up to six times. This means a full fireteam equipped with this bad boy can dole out some heavy damage. The first thing players need to do is acquire the Rat King’s Crew item. This can be done by finishing the Enemy of My Enemy quest on Titan....

Of course, when there is something to collect in Destiny 2, especially during a limited-time event, the question becomes how to farm Chocolate Strange Coins and Candy. The good news is, there are numerous ways to earn these currencies during Festival of the Lost, and the extent to which players will want to go to get them will be dependent on what they want. The Hammer of Proving and Cabal Gold are only two of the newest additions to Destiny 2 as a part of Season of the Chosen. Along with a new seasonal activity, Battlegrounds, players also have access to a new area in the Tower called the Hub for Emergency Logistics and Maneuvers or H.E.L.M. It’s here that players will find the War Table seasonal vendor, and the Hammer of Proving, showing players the various upgrades available to unlock....

Why is The Recluse SMG So Popular? Recluse is so popular in Destiny 2 because of its perk synergy. Its unique perk is called Master of Arms, and it grants 10 seconds of bonus damage after a kill with any weapon and resets after an additional kill. So if you get a kill with your primary or power weapon, you can switch to Recluse and it is ready to chew through basic enemies....

The other factor in play is Destiny 2’s new seasonal artifact, which adds an additional power boost onto players. When players scroll over their level in the character screen, they can see their base gear level and then the additional power they are receiving from leveling up the seasonal artifact via XP. But for those who want to try to reach the gear level max of 960, there is a specific (and very limited path) to do so....
