Designer Luke Smith took to the Destiny forums on NeoGAF to tell players that the response to The Dark Below has informed future design decisions. Lessons learned involving armor upgrades and leveling will influence how they approach those same ideas in the upcoming House of Wolves expansion. More specifically, Smith explains that those mistakes Bungie made with The Dark Below’s reward economy will not be repeated. He cites things like vendor gear invalidating the effort of Vault of Glass raiders and upgrading exotics by resetting their talents as two examples of the reward economy gone awry, but does not explicitly say how House of Wolves will improve upon or do away with those concepts....

In what seems to be an elusive quest, fans are still searching for how to get their hands on the weapon that ruled Destiny’s first year of Crucible and Trials of Osiris play. It’s actually a good thing E3 hype has seemingly helped increase interest in Destiny (yes, there are some detractors too), because Xur has a surprisingly solid selection this week. But first, you have to find him. This week, Xur can be found in the Reef for the second time since the Destiny House of Wolves DLC launched. Most expect that the final piece of Destiny content will release in April, but that’s only speculation at this point. What is clear is that Destiny 2 is looming in the horizon, and eventually all Destiny developers will become Destiny 2 developers. Whether the in-game pieces of Destiny will also make the jump to Destiny 2 is not yet clear, but most hope that the exotic vendor Xur comes along for the ride....
