According to Bungie, Xur not having a weapon was some sort of glitch and unfortunately they couldn’t fix it without breaking something. So, a Destiny weekend went by without Xur offering players a chance to boost their exotic firepower. But most hoped that the fluke might mean Xur would return this weekend with a truly memorable exotic selection. Or at least they hoped he would.

This week, Xur can be found in Tower North, across from the Speaker’s quarters. He’s set up right next to last week’s spot, just follow the stairs on the left once you spawn into the Tower.

Xur’s Exotic Selection

Unfortunately, any hopes that Xur might show up with top tier loot will be quickly dashed. He does have some worthwhile gear, mind you, but nothing that Destiny players have not seen countless times before.

That being said, we’d still recommend Titans pick up the Armamentarium if they haven’t already, and the Starfire Protocol is a solid choice for Warlocks. The Patience and Time sniper rifle is also a decent option for those players who like to keep a low profile while picking off enemies. It also works in a pinch during Nightfall Strikes with the Arc Burn modifier.

For a full rundown of Xur’s items and prices see the list below:

The Armamentarium (Titan Chest Piece) – 13 Strange Coins Young Ahamkara’s Spine (Hunter Gauntlets) – 13 Strange Coins Starfire Protocol (Warlock DLC Chest Piece) – 13 Strange Coins Patience and Time (Sniper Rifle) – 17 Strange Coins Exotic Shard – 7 Strange Coins Exotic Chest Engram – 23 Motes of Light

So, it wasn’t a weekend to remember for Xur, but that’s not totally unexpected. In fact, it was kind of refreshing to see Xur show up last week without a weapon; it fostered fun conspiracy theories and it told us a little more about how Bungie controls (or doesn’t control) his inventory. Until next time, Guardians!

What do you hope Xur sells next week? Were you hoping that Bungie might make up for last week’s glitch with a top-tier Xur selection?
