Things are not going to quiet down either, as the hotly anticipated new content coming to Destiny through The Taken King expansion arrives in a few days, followed by the King’s Fall raid shortly after that. To help ease the wait, the final Bungie weekly update offers a small look back while also revealing new information including the release date for The Taken King soundtrack.

After the 2.0 Update went live, many fans may have noticed a different theme song playing at the title screen. This song is part of The Taken King soundtrack that is set to release alongside Oryx this coming Tuesday, September 15. The album will not only contain the music from upcoming content but pull in tunes from each of the previously released expansions, The Dark Below and House of Wolves.

Fans curious for an early listen can check out a short sample released by Bungie from the upcoming soundtrack right here.

The soundtrack features a trio of composers: Michael Salvatori, C. Paul Johnson, and Skye Lewin. As many have expected, Marty O’Donnell, the former Audio Director at Bungie and the person responsible for many of the iconic Halo themes, is not listed within the credits of The Taken King soundtrack.

As some know, O’Donnell was terminated from Bungie last year after butting heads with Destiny’s publisher, Activision. The rift seemingly developed when Activision’s marketing team planned to score the Destiny trailers without O’Donnell’s involvement.

Since O’Donnell’s unexpected firing, the two sides have been involved in a legal dispute over allegations of wrongful termination. Just this past week, the courts sided in favor of O’Donnell, which entitled the composer to company shares and $142,500 in profit.

Court documents that surfaced from the lawsuit also gave fans some clues as to what really happened to Destiny’s story and why the final product felt so bare bones. Not only that, the initial release schedule for the game was revealed and confirmed that the original plan was for a direct sequel to be released this month. Things certainly seem to have changed a bit in the original 10-year contract between Acitivision and Bungie.

With all these changes and content being added to Destiny, what else would you like to see updated in a future release? Let us know below in the comments.
