As most, if not all Guardians will recall, Destiny’s original King’s Fall raid came just at the right time when the science fiction shooter was facing a dearth of content, and was released as the major event within the game’s The Taken King expansion that debuted in September 2015. Now, players ought to look forward to Age of Triumph’s refreshing of King’s Fall offering a 390 Light difficulty to the raid, and updated challenges for the Warpriest, Golgoroth, and the Taken King himself, Oryx.
Of course, the first couple of weeks for Destiny’s Age of Triumph initially began with the Crota’s End raid, and then Bungie made the refreshed Vault of Glass raid go live in the following week. In typical Destiny fashion, some Guardians decided to test their abilities beyond the way in which Bungie designed them by playing through the challenges with self-imposed limitations, like the fan who managed to prove that it’s possible to complete the Templar challenge solo in Age of Triumph’s version of Vault of Glass.
Bearing this in mind, it’s quite likely that the Destiny community will see Guardians try similar feats of fancy against Oryx in Age of Triumph’s King’s Fall raid. Naturally, though, it should prove to be a test of one’s mettle, especially with the Light difficulty raised to 390, so a lot of players will likely take on the raid as intended with a Fireteam of six squaring off against the Taken King.
Without a doubt, Age of Triumph is proving to be a solid send-off to the original Destiny, as Bungie and its legion of fans prepare for the proper followup in Destiny 2. Already, the community is practically frothing at the mouth for the next installment, as GameStop has said pre-order sales for the sequel are “amazing,” so thankfully, fans have something to tide themselves over while they wait with Age of Triumph.
