Of course, there are stipulations that Guardians must meet in order to receive the Ghosts. As seen below, Bungie has detailed exactly what Destiny fans must do so as to ensure they are rewarded properly. Regarding the matter, the company explains:

Bungie also went on to assure those fans who may not be able to take part in the Crimson Days event over the weekend will still have a couple of days to get the Ghost shell, as the festivities will last through February 16 until the Weekly Reset hits. All players need is a partner and the desire to play through several battles to their conclusions to receive the award.

For those unaware, just before the fix, a lot of Destiny fans realized that the loot drops were being doled out at random whether or not they won or lost a round, so loads of players from the game’s community began killing themselves at the beginning of each match just to increase the chances of getting the Ghost shell, hence Bungie’s mentioning of “no suicide pacts!”. Truthfully, the studio’s decision to essentially hand out the event’s most-wanted reward for free is good news for everyone, for if developers simply adjusted the drop rates, there would still be fans getting frustrated over receiving low-ranking gear during long grinds, or worse, nothing at all. Not to mention, without the fix, some would-be Guardians would still be offing themselves for the loot.

With essentially every dedicated Destiny player getting a 320 Light Ghost shell, Bungie is undoubtedly attempting to win back fans after keeping them in the dark for the longest time over its Year 2 plan for the game. Plus, the studio is certainly well aware that letting all of the game’s players get closer to the maximum level cap without much work won’t really matter for long since it recently announced that the Spring update will provide a Light level increase. Hopefully for Bungie’s sake, the aforementioned loot fix and the forthcoming content drop will provide enough new gear, weapons, and PvE materials to keep fans engaged long enough for Destiny 2’s release date in 2017, and the fresh expansion for 2016.
