To start the Allegiance quest, players need to head to the Drifter where he will offer players a “Decision Point” to either stand with the Drifter or stand with the Vanguard. As the tooltips tell players, they will receive different quest rewards, the Drifter will remember the choice (which for now shows itself through the dialogue players hear from him), and it also affects players being able to unlock a specific lore book.
Once a choice is made, the quest will go into players’ Pursuits tab and they will go through multiple steps to complete the quest. The rewards earned by siding with the Drifter is a package that awards one piece of Gambit gear and one of each type of Gambit Prime Synths. On the other side, allying with the Vanguard will award a package containing one piece of Vanguard gear, one Enhancement Core, and Boon of the Vanguard consumables.
Either way, the Drifter and the Vanguard will offer a reward package once per week to players, expected to contain the same rewards each week. These are Powerful rewards, however, so the gear drops can help players level up to the new power cap in Season of the Drifter.
As mentioned above, siding with the Drifter will lock players out from getting the complete lore book called “The Warlock Aunor” while those who side with the Vanguard will be able to collect all its entries. The good news is that the choice in the Allegiance quest is character-based, not account-based, so Destiny 2 players can experience both sides of the quest by allying different characters to each side.
Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
