One of the exotic weapons returning to Destiny 2 from Destiny 1 is the Lord of Wolves, a fast-firing, burst shotgun that supposedly does major damage in PvP. But unlike most exotics, which can drop from activities and powerful rewards, there is only one way to acquire the Lord of Wolves.
Once players reach the Tangled Shore in the Destiny 2: Forsaken campaign they will meet Spider, a Fallen quest giver and vendor. Spider offers a bevy of bounties for players to complete as well, each requiring the player to find a specific Wanted enemy and eliminate them.
In order to acquire one of these bounties, however, players must first get ghost parts, which drop from public event and patrol completions. Players can hold up to 10 at a time, and Spider’s bounties vary in cost based on the reward.
Those bounties that can deliver legendary gear are the ones that players want, as they also have a chance of dropping the Lord of Wolves. It’s a completely random chance, but the bounties are very easy to farm since many of them reset daily and they carry a relatively low cost.
Although Bungie has not acknowledged it yet, it does seem as though Destiny 2 is trying to go back to the days where exotic drops were a rare and exciting occurrence. By removing Three of Coins and setting the Fated Engram to only deliver year 1 exotics, Bungie has decreased the ways that players can earn new Forsaken exotics and in turn made them more rare. Now it’s more about finding the source of an exotic, or the quest tied to it, and hoping for a lucky drop.
Destiny 2: Forsaken is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
