As part of the exclusive content, PS4 players will get to take on the Broodhold strike and fight a Hive Brood Queen deep inside a crashed Tombship in the Tangled Shore patrol zone. What makes this fight interesting is that the Queen can change between a physical and a shadow form, each coming with different abilities. Players must fight their way through waves of Hive in order to face off against this new and powerful boss. Players will encounter both version of the Brood Queen on their way to the boss chamber.
Players also get one of the many new exotics in Forsaken: Wavesplitter. This trace rifle will be exclusive to PS4 players and has a very interesting play style. The weapon changes beam intensity when the trigger is held down, so players can get into a rhythm of firing and releasing the trigger to maximize damage against certain types of enemies.
Wavesplitter joins Coldheart and Prometheus Lens as one of the few trace rifles in Destiny 2, each having a very unique and interesting exotic perk. Wavesplitter also has a perk that overcharges the weapon when an orb of light is picked up, so it could make for a very interesting boss damage weapon under the right circumstances.
Also included in the exclusive content are the three new armor sets and a new ship. While this content will be locked to PS4 for awhile, PC and Xbox One players will be able to access the previous PS4-exclusive content when Forsaken launches. This includes the Lake of Shadows strike, the Insight Terminus strike, and the Borealis exotic sniper rifle. Even though this new content won’t be available on PC or Xbox for some time, it will likely make its way to those platforms when the next Destiny 2 expansion launches.
Destiny 2: Forsaken launches September 4 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
