As most Destiny 2 players can confirm, Protheon the Modular Mind is already a hulking Vex boss, so when news broke that a bug was introduced in the previous update that made it three times its normal size, many fans and players were interested in seeing what that must have been like. Thankfully, the official Bungie Twitter account came through for everyone, posting a short gameplay clip of the bug in action. Things are fairly straightforward until the boss finally spawns in and only its legs are immediately visible to the player.
Based on many of the comments the post got, it seems like many fans were in favor of this bug, with some even asking why it was fixed at all. As fun as it would be to shoot at the Vex now affectionately known as Swoletheon, the issue was that the boss was too big to actually fit inside of the lair, especially when the second and third phases of the fight kicked in. Not only that, it would be extremely hard for players to avoid its inevitable ground stomp ability for when players are too close to the boss. Still, there is hope out there that Bungie will do something like this again in the future.
Outside of the larger than life Vex Mind, many players have begun the climb to the new power level, which was increased alongside the Black Armory update. The first forge activity known as Volundr, requires a minimum power of 615 for the first round and goes up from there the more rounds players go. The real rush for many will be to be raid ready by Friday when Scourge of the Past launches. Unlike the forge, this new Raid requires players to be at 640, 10 points off of the new maximum. With only a few days before it launches, players don’t have a whole lot of time to ensure they’re ready to compete for the title of World’s First.
Destiny 2: Black Armory is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
