In the most recent This Week At Bungie (TWAB) announcement thread, Community Manager DeeJ discussed a range of upcoming features and issues with Destiny 2, ending his post with a shoutout to all the great friendships inspired by Bungie’s latest title.

It’s a sweet sentiment and in many ways DeeJ’s thoughts on the game are the way we should all see our Destiny 2 experience, but the quote has been taken as an insult to many invested members of the game’s fanbase. A post on the Destiny 2 Reddit forums gained a lot of traction recently, complaining about how it seemed that Bungie was saying that the multiplayer made up for the lack of endgame content.

“The endgame of Destiny 1 (Y1, Y2, or Y3) is still vastly superior to the watered down, shallow incarnation we currently have, and now we see that Bungie doesn’t really care what we, the vocal hardcore minority think. We aren’t their market and this paragraph shows it,” writes OriginalTodd on Reddit.

Upset with how his words on friendship have been misconstrued, DeeJ posted on Twitter regarding the Reddit post’s popularity:

Of course there is more content coming to Destiny 2, but a playerbase that is likely too used to the expansion pack fueled Destiny might struggle to adapt to a more empty experience in the game’s sequel. In the mean time, endgame players will be soon be able to compete in the returning Iron Banner events which will be kicking off early next week.

In other Destiny 2 news, those who haven’t yet been able to complete the this week’s Nightfall Strike are in luck, as players online have found a way to cheese the raid and make the whole experience drastically easier. This method of circumventing the raid’s time limit is sure to be patched soon, so players willing to be a little unethical should take advantage of the situation while they still can.

Destiny 2 is out now for PS4 and Xbox One. The PC version releases on October 24, 2017.
