In response to the player feedback, Bungie’s community manager Cozmo says the developer is looking into the reports. While all of the game’s original arc-based subclasses received buffs in April 9’s Update 2.2.1, the Chaos Reach super was not supposed to have been tweaked in any way. But, as with any time developers add a patch to a game, there’s a possibility that something else unintended occurs, which appears to have happened here.
This is the second reported issue of the update, with the first being an exploit that players quickly found that allowed them to quickly amass Enhancement Cores. That resulted in having the Season 6 pinnacle weapons disabled at their vendors. Bungie has yet to give an estimated timetable as to when either of these issues introduced by the latest update will be patched.
The fact that Chaos Reach is broken is an extra disappointment for fans of the subclass considering the fact that this week is the special mini-event Arc Week, which adds Arc Singe modifiers to activities and arc-related bounties in an attempt to have players focus on those particular arc subclasses for this week. Before this issue, Chaos Reach was a strong super to take into PvE, being able to focus down big targets, especially with the added benefits of the Geomag Stabilizers that boost the duration of the super while damaging enemies with it. But until this issue is fixed, there’s little reason to continue using the new Stormcaller path added in Destiny 2’s Forsaken expansion.
Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
