There have been some very solid ports to the Nintendo Switch; some of which have come in creative ways. A game like Doom 3 reviewed very well on the Switch, even though graphically it looks rather dull. Meanwhile, Control is actually streamed via the cloud onto the Switch to make it run properly. So Desperados 3 is a title that, in theory, would be something that could be able to find its way to Nintendo’s hybrid console.

Desperados 3 is a very highly reviewed title for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Although the game is not overly graphically intensive, it is more demanding on the CPU than it may seem at first glance. Head of design over at Mimimi Games, Moritz Wagner, recently chimed in on Desperados 3 and trying to port it to the Nintendo Switch. He said that the entire team at Mimimi Games are fans of the Nintendo Switch and they have been trying to make Desperados 3 run “for quite some time.” However, Wagner says he doesn’t think it is going to work.
Wagner says that there is perhaps a chance for a Nintendo Switch Pro version of Desperados 3, although Nintendo has been dodging Switch Pro rumors for months. The developer could also get creative with streaming, as Control did. Either way, it is likely disappointing for fans that the game won’t be on the Nintendo Switch; at least for now.
Desperados 3 releases June 16, 2o2o, for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
