Gordon made an announcement on Twitter and Instagram Friday, saying he would forego an attempt at an NBA career to become a firefighter in San Francisco.

Gordon achieved moderate success during his collegiate career. In 2011-12, as a freshman at Western Kentucky, he led the Hilltoppers with 11.8 points per game. Gordon transferred the following season to UMass, where in the 2013-14 season he averaged 9.4 points and 3.5 rebounds per game while helping the Minutemen to the NCAA Tournament.
He finished his career in 2015-16 as a graduate transfer at Seton Hall, where he averaged 8 points per game. He helped the Pirates win the 2016 Big East Conference Tournament. The Pirates also made it to the NCAA Tournament.
