Invading and successfully vanquishing invaders grants players increased Character and World Tendency, unlocking unique questlines and rewards for Demon Slayers who invest in multiplayer combat. Not every player wants to engage in PvP, however, while others actively seek it out. Therefore, this guide will show players how to invade other players and friends in Demon’s Souls.

Ensure the Game has Online Access
Since Demon’s Souls’ PS3 servers shut down in 2018, the only way to play Demon’s Souls on public servers is by owning a copy of the PS5 remake, along with a subscription to PlayStation Plus and a connection to the internet.
Players should also ensure that their copy of Demon’s Souls is fully up-to-date by pressing the “☰” button on their DualSense whilst hovering over the game’s icon on the Home menu; then, select “Check for Update” from the dropdown box and make sure the latest version of the game is installed.
Now, when players launch the game, they should have full access to the game’s dedicated servers. To check this, select “Settings” from the main menu and scroll down to “Network.”
With a PS Plus (or PlayStation Plus Premium) subscription and an internet connection, this page should be accessible. From here, people seeking to play with their friends can set passwords to exclusively matchmake with others using the same one, while gamers looking to play in other countries can select their server of choice.
To avoid playing online entirely, switch to Offline in the “Launch State” tab.
How to Invade Other Players
To invade other players in Demon’s Souls, one must first obtain a Black Eye Stone by killing a Black Phantom. These enemies typically only appear in levels with Pure Black World Tendency, though some appear regardless like the Great Club Black Phantoms found at the bottom of the elevator in The Tunnel City. The Baby’s Nail Black Phantom may be found guarding the door to the Fool’s Idol boss fight in The Prison of Hope, also.
Upon obtaining the Black Eye Stone, one must enter Soul Form by dying while in Body Form. This can be done by falling from a balcony in the Nexus to avoid losing progress to White World Tendency.
Now, players can invade the worlds of others from almost anywhere in Boletaria. Popular invasion locations include near the archstone at the Gates of Boletaria, or the beginning of the Shrine of Storms.
Alternatively, players looking to fight in a more controlled environment may use their Black Eye Stone at The Ivory Tower in Latria for the chance to be summoned in the Old Monk boss fight.
To end an invasion early, use the White Eye Stone, obtained from the Maiden in Black after defeating the Phalanx Demon.
Demon’s Souls Remake is currently exclusive to PS5.
